Who we are
The Competence Network Environmental Economy.NRW (KNUW) is the network for knowledge and technology transfer in the field of environmental innovation in North Rhine-Westphalia.
As partners and brokers, we bring together companies, research institutions, associations, universities, business development agencies and government. Our aim is to strengthen the environmental economy and push forward the green economy in NRW.
Since 2026, the network has been operated by PricewaterhouseCoopers GmbH (PwC), CP Compartner GmbH and Arqum GmbH on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
What we do
We promote innovation and cooperation by creating platforms for exchange and cooperation – at regional, national and international levels. With dialogue formats, the presence at trade expos and other events, we connect the business, research and political communities. Together, we tap into systemic solutions and economic potential for the green economy. In cooperation with strategic partners, we support the international communication and marketing of innovative core competencies of the North Rhine-Westphalian green economy.
Through the Green Economy Network.NRW Showcase and various event formats, we increase the visibility of innovative companies and support them in their effort to jostle for national and international position at the leading edge of the green economy.
